Summer has arrived in style this year with smart shoppers logging on to eBay India (www.ebay.in) to stock up their summer gear. According to the eBay India Summer Trend Report, shoppers are purchasing a wide range of products across multiple categories to beat the heat; from travel accessories to beachwear to indoor games. The top 20 cities from where consumers are shopping also include cities such as Cuttack, Thiruvananthapuram, Khordha, Faridadbad and Surat in addition to the metro cities.
Commenting on the report, Ms. Deepa Thomas, eCommerce Evangelist, eBay India said, “The eBay India ‘Summer Trends’ Report 2013 provides some interesting insights with respect to the shopping trends in India this summer. We have seen a massive increase in summer shopping this year with the summer categories showing triple digit growth over the same period in 2012. Our trends indicate that people even from the tier II and Tier III markets are splurging on summer products this season highlighting the growing popularity of eCommerce in these hubs”.
She added, “Travel is a key theme for online shoppers with Passport holders, Travel Books, Suitcases & Travel Irons featuring in the list. We also see a lot of beach wear sales including Swimwear, Shorts, Sandals, Flipflops & Wedges, Caps & Tee shirts. Consumers also stay cool & entertained with Indoor Games, Refrigerators, Juicers featuring on the list. “
