Finally the moment has arrived. It was amazing past six years with Google Reader. For me and for millions of bloggers across globe, reader was de-facto companion for reading & keeping tab on technology news, blogs, PRs, research articles, twitters updates, android news & many more.
Yesterday finally when I migrated entire of my Reader feeds to its nearest substitute, I was missing the feel of reading blogs in my reader window. But finally, after spending few hours, I got accustomed to new feed reader. That should be part of my ritual now onwards!
Albeit with many alternatives now available to Reader, I always felts that, there’s enough room for Reader to stand, grow & compete with new versions of feed readers despite its bit sluggish response to changing times. It hardly mattered to me at least!
It brings back one question to me. Does it all belong to a company, which created it for its readers or now to its die-hard fans, who blindly logged into their Reader accounts at odd times, to keep tab on happenings around the globe? Few of us even worshipped it and believed that it’s always going to be available when needed.
Let’s not open Pandora’s box! It would be endless debate without any outcome.
Let’s take a moment out of busy schedule today and kiss good bye to one of the most beautiful companion of our blogging life & reading rituals!
Goodbye Google Reader!
May your memory live longer & inspire others!
