Ruckus Wireless, Inc. (NYSE: RKUS) announced that it was honored by Inc. magazine as a 2012 Hire Power Award winner. Generating 303 jobs from 2008 to 2011, Ruckus, which conducted its initial public offering (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on November 16, 2012, was named the third largest job creator in the telecommunications industry during this time period.

“Given our work in the carrier Wi-Fi industry, Ruckus is in a rapid growth phase and is at the forefront of job creation in the United States and around the world,” said Kathleen Swift, vice president, human resources. “We are known for being a fierce player that likes to cause a ‘ruckus,’ which is appealing to the type of talented, innovative thinkers we tend to hire.”

“The people who come to work at Ruckus appreciate the somewhat off-beat culture, as well as the fact that their voice counts,” she continued. “We strongly encourage participation at all levels and give people an opportunity to take part in making decisions about how things are done. Working in a truly innovative environment with such smart, creative people who are developing game-changing technology makes Ruckus an exciting place to be.”

The Inc. Hire Power Awards are sponsored by Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, and recognize private companies that are restoring lives and rebuilding the economy by putting Americans back to work. Inc. Hire Power Award winners appear in Inc.‘s December/January issue as well as on www.inc.com.

Since its founding in 2004, Ruckus has focused on improving the performance and reliability of wireless networks for businesses and service providers around the globe, with its Smart Wi-Fi systems and technology. Today, the company has more than 18,000 customers comprising mobile carriers, broadband service providers and medium/large enterprises, and employs more than 600 full-time staff across 24 countries.

“The top 100 companies on the list have created 73,032 American jobs in the three years from 2008 to 2011—an amazing feat, given that much of that job growth came during the heart of the recession,” said Inc. editor-in-chief Eric Schurenberg. “We salute the companies listed on the 2012 Hire Power list as heroes that are restoring job creation and the strength of the economy, and strengthening America’s position as a leader in innovation.”
