The OpenDaylight Project, a collaborative open source project to advance software-defined networking (SDN), announced that Cyan, Huawei, Inocybe Technologies, Plexxi and Radware are joining as members to accelerate development and adoption of open source SDN.
As the industry moves toward widespread adoption of SDN, an open, reference framework for programmability and control is needed. OpenDaylight members are committed to the goal of developing a common and open SDN platform for developers to utilize, contribute to and build commercial products and technologies upon. Each new member will be using OpenDaylight to deliver addons and enhancements to their products and services that provide additional value to their customers.

Inocybe Technologies, Inc., makes networking infrastructure simple to operate and monetize by alleviating the complexities of today’s information communication technology (ICT) management. It provides a unified virtual infrastructure management platform designed to bridge the gap between DevOps and SDN into a single management and marketplace for users.
“We believe that SDN will become the de facto standard for IT networking, but only if the industry works together to make it simple, fast and affordable for any organization to create a robust, global and scalable infrastructure,” said Mathieu Lemay, chief executive officer, Inocybe Technologies. “OpenDaylight takes a strong step in this direction by meeting new customer demands through a collective, industry effort that will transform the way vendors and customers manage networks.”
Plexxi is a venturefunded startup located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded by networking veterans who are focused on getting at the root of what’s wrong with today’s complex, inefficient costly data center networks, and tackling it headon. Plexxi offers an affinitydriven networking solution, specifically built for the fluid and dynamic nature of today’s data center computing needs.
“OpenDaylight opens up SDN for everyone, allowing the industry to realize its full potential faster than any one company working alone,” said Mat Mathews, cofounder and vice president of product management, Plexxi. “We are excited to be part of this initiative to bring SDN technologies to our data center customers.”
Radware develops application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers. Its solutions empower more than 10,000 enterprise and carrier customers worldwide to adapt to market challenges quickly, maintain business continuity and achieve maximum productivity while keeping costs down.
