Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, became the first manufacturer in Asia-Pacific to be awarded an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) ENERGY STAR® certificate from UL, a world leader in advancing safety science.
In an effort to continue to expand its environmental protection and energy efficiency programs, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency added UPS products to its scope of regulated products. In order to qualify for the ENERGY STAR program, Huawei’s UPS products met the world’s most stringent energy efficiency standards and passed with an average UPS output efficiency nearly five percent higher than certification standards.
Xinyue Hu, product director of Huawei Network Energy Product Line, said: “We are honored to be the first manufacturer in the Asia-Pacific region to receive the UPS ENERGY STAR® certificate. Huawei has participated in the energy industry for more than 20 years and this certification is recognition of Huawei’s commitment to the development of innovative, high-quality green energy solutions. All of our products are developed through the Four-S design concept – stable, simple, smart and saving. We believe that advanced energy efficiency will help companies to improve their core competitiveness and to help them achieve this, we will continue to incorporate stringent environmental protection and energy saving standards across our entire product development process, from inception and design, to device testing and validation.”
