MWC 2013: Huawei Single Radio Controller to help Telcos in multi-network synergy & improved network efficiency!

HuaweiHuawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today launched the innovative SRC (Single Radio Controller) solution at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013. The SRC solution achieves multi-RAT network synergy, enhances network capacity and efficiency, and help operators build networks that provide a better mobile broadband (MBB) experience.

 

Rapid MBB development has led to unprecedented demands on network capacity. Operators have traditionally introduced new technologies, standards and spectrum bands to solve capacity problems, and are now looking to achieve multi-band, multi-RAT synergy and scheduling. Such an approach enables the efficient use of existing spectrum and site resources to maximize network capacity and provide the best MBB user experience.

 

Huawei’s SRC solution realizes the centralized coordination of network resources for total multi-band, multi-RAT synergy. SRC includes Huawei’s high-capacity, multi-RAT controller platform unifies network access control and coordination scheduling for GSM, UMTS, LTE FDD, LTE TDD and Wi-Fi networks.

 

SRC currently supports a maximum data traffic capacity of 120 Gb/s, which is three times the industry average, and supports evolution to TeraSite levels of data traffic when effective smart device penetration reaches 100{af589cdba9d77786c8c861317dbad60bba1e2ebbf56e2ffab874a1b59fde9ce3}. Its signaling processing capacity supports 64 million busy hour call attempts (BHCA), more than five times the industry average, and is the industry’s most integrated network controller.

 

SRC employs a wide-range of innovative technologies for total synergy of multi-band, multi-cell and multi-layer networks.
