If you are aware of recent BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill near Gulf of Mexico, then let me share one interesting but sad fact about the spillage. According to Reuters, BP is still uncertain about solution to control the damage even after 20 days of incident, and as per report slick is spreading towards West now. The spill has already covered 2500 sq miles of sea surface, which is likely to spread more in coming days. But do you understand, how will the spill area look like? How big it is?
Paul Rademacher has developed an interesting application which will help us in understanding the spill damage in terms of area. Below, I have mapped Oil Spill area over New Delhi, India map to understand the extent of damage. Really Shocking!
